What is Ridekicks

Ridekicks is a place to share your car with your social network. We want to help people to go more places, and share those trips with their current friends, colleagues and team mates. We believe that social technology has the power to change the way that society uses cars from being personal transportation vehicles to being collaborative transformational tools, and to top that off we believe it should be fun.

Ridekicks' unique car sharing features

Your car, your social network, you're in control ...we've built Ridekicks so that it makes it really easily to offer and search for rides, share them on your social networks and explore your friend's connections and their rides.

Official groups and loose associations ...whether you want to share your car with everyone in your company, or just find anyone else that likes Michel Buble, there is a way to group together on Ridekicks.

Free or fee, it's up to you ...it's never been easier to car share and recoup your fuel costs. You can use our booking system to accept and decline potential car share buddy. If you have decided to charge for your car share, you can receive payment for your ride too.

Safety first, reviews and feedback ...car sharing should be safe. That's why we have built a unique review feature and messaging system. Every time you share your car, or share someone else's, you're invited to leave a review of your travel buddy. Everyone can see these reviews, so it's worth driving safely and turning up on time.

Become the King of the road ...every mile you share on Ridekicks equates to 1 Ridekick point. So every mile you share either as a driver or a passenger helps boosts your total score. You can also earn points when the Ridekick(s) you shared your journey with, reviews you and puts a sticker on your profile.

The ultimate goal is to become The King of the road - the highest scoring Ridekick in your group and on the entire site. You don't get to keep this title - unless you keep sharing! There is also the chance to become the home-town hero, the highest scoring Ridekick in your home town. If you have any other bright ideas for stickers and awards, let us know.

What can I do with all my points?

We're currently working out what these points might translate into one day, but for now it's just a game. Got a great suggestion?

Ridesharing

We've built Ridekicks so that it makes it really easily to offer and search for rides, share them on your social networks and explore your friends connections and their rides. We've also used the magnificent PayPal adaptive payments to enable you to pay or receive payments for your spare seats through the site. You can offer free rides too if you like. If you are charging or paying for seat and like to get everything sorted out up front we think this is the best way.

Who is Ridekicks?

Ridekicks is Lee Marshall and Rohit Mistry. We've had some help along the way from friends that also happened to be experts in their respective fields - so a big thank you to them.
